All our Grates, Bollards and Brackets are 'hot dip' galvanised and carry our 10 year structural guarantee. As well as 'hot dip' Galvanising, we have access to Powder Coating and Electroplating as well, so you have the choice of colour coding your grates to match your surroundings and be un-obtrusive in your specific decor. All our C, D & E class grates are galvanised and carry our 10 year structural guarantee. RECESSED DRIVEWAY GRATES These grates slip into a recessed drain and are perfect for new drainage systems. They do not require a frame, They sit 'flush' to the surface and don't 'klang' when they're driven over. To recess the drain at pouring stage, your concreters will need to add a piece of 30 x 30 timber to the top of their boxing to create the recess for the grate to sit in place once the pour is done, so your top opening will always be the size of the grate, and the body of the drain will be 60mm narrower. AS - 3996** We make grates to a specific standard; every grate we make is rated to classes - B - C - D and E. Definitions as set out in Australian Standards 3996 (Access covers and grates) Class - B - (Light duty) - Areas including footpaths and light mowers, not including commercial vehicles. Class C - (medium duty) - Areas including footpaths, malls and driveways that are accessible to vehicles including slow moving commercial vehicles. Class D - (heavy duty) - Carriageways of roads and areas open to commercial vehicles. Class E - (extra heavy duty) - General docks and aircraft pavements. **Please note that all our grates start at and exceed the 'Class - C' rating. We will only make light weight 'Class B' grates on request. Class B pit grates should be fixed with dyna-bolts to the external drain mouth for security and stability, as they are a light weight grate, and not suitable for any sort of commercial traffic.
